On Friday, Nick will hold a number of local advice ‘surgeries’ in Pulborough, before meeting the Trustees of Lodge Hill Outdoor Centre to discuss their work with local children. Nick will then be visiting the RSPB centre at Pulborough Brooks as ‘species champion’ for the Lapwing. Following this, Nick will attend the LAMBS public meeting with Sir Nicholas Soames to discuss the proposed new town at Mayfield.
On Wednesday, Nick will attend a meeting at the think tank, PolicyExchange, to hear from Australian Treasurer, John Frydenburg. In the afternoon he will meet pupils visiting Parliament from Duncton CofE Junior School to answer questions and talk about his work as an MP, before attending the second Conservative Party leadership hustings.
On Monday, Nick will attend the Conservative Party leadership launch for Jeremy Hunt’s campaign. In the afternoon he will meet pupils visiting Parliament from Wisborough Green Primary School to answer questions and talk about his work as an MP.
Nick will be visiting the former temporary airfield at Coolham, near Billingshurst. The airfield was used by pilots in WW2 operations including the D-Day landing. A plaque will be unveiled in the garden of the Selsey Arms pub, adjacent to the airfield, to remember the 15 pilots and workers who lost their lives in service. More information can be found here.
On Friday, Nick will be in the constituency for a number of meetings, including with West Sussex County Council, his fellow West Sussex MPs and for the Arundel & South Downs Conservative Association’s Executive Council. On Thursday, Friday and Bank Hoiiday Monday Nick will be in New York City for meetings with the President of the UN General Assembly, the UK and Japanese missions to the UN, UNAIDS, TB Alliance and the Open Society Foundations. Nick is Co-Chair of the Global TB Caucus and the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Global TB, and Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Global LGBT Rights.
On Tuesday, Nick will address the Backbench Business Committee, in his capacity as Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Global LGBT Rights, to pitch for a Commons debate to mark International Day Against Homophobia.
