The MP called into the award-winning Vintage Rose tea room, situated in a Grade 2 listed building in the heart of the village, a popular destination for shoppers.

‘Small Business Saturday’ is an initiative to help boost the smaller retailers and is now in its sixth year.  The campaign raises awareness of the smaller businesses and the importance of shopping locally.

Sian Church, who owns and runs Vintage Rose tea room, said: “It was lovely of Nick to drop in for lunch and support us.  Small businesses always value a boost, and Small Business Saturday is another great way of doing this.”

Nick Herbert said: "I was delighted to call into Vintage Rose on ‘Small Business Saturday’ where I enjoyed a delicious lunch.  The tea room is one of so many brilliant independent small business which give the villages and small market towns in my Arundel and South Downs constituency their heart and character.”

Vintage Rose tea room have been shortlisted for this year’s Café of The Year award run by the West Sussex County Times.
