Mr Herbert joined the Group’s owner Matt Gittings, and local schoolgirl Florence D’Arienzo Cole, to open the new premises based in the former Millstream medical centre.  They were joined by customers, local residents and children from Storrington Primary School.

Matt had invited the schoolchildren to take part in a poetry-writing competition.  Florence’s winning poem ‘Pets at the Vets’ will be framed and displayed in the reception.

The new Storrington practice will provide a multi-disciplinary animal hospital and become the flagship site of the Group.  Arun Veterinary Group (AVG) also have practices in Pulborough, Ashington and Westergate.

AVG have also launched an independent sister service, South Downs Emergency Vets which is dedicated to emergency and critical outside of surgery hours.  This will be based in the newly refurbished Storrington premises which includes a high dependency facility, a ‘cat only’ ward, and spacious, air-conditioned dog kennels alongside state-of-the-art equipment.

Matt Gittings said: “We are very grateful to have our MP’s support once again.  Our Storrington hospital provides routine vet care, complex treatments by our advanced practitioners, visiting specialist vets, state of the art facilities and a brand new dedicated on-site emergency service, South Downs Emergency Vets.  The new practice complements our existing comprehensive services delivering 24/7 care and will become our flagship premises.”

Mr Herbert said: “I was delighted to open this very smart new practice.  The new building, with the addition of an emergency care facility, will provide a complete service for local pet owners.  Congratulations to Matt and his team.”
