This year’s show was the second one organised by the Storrington & Sullington Community Partnership, hosted in the Chanctonbury Leisure Centre.  The Show brought together 33 local community groups to highlight their work and encourage volunteers to support them.

The Community Partnership say that the benefits of joining a local community group includes making new friends, learning new skills and being active.   Storrington has a number of groups in the local area to appeal to all ages and interests.

The Show’s main aim was to appeal for new volunteers to support the groups.  By bringing them all together under one roof they could appeal to the broadest range of visitors.  The groups included included conservation societies, charities and children’s clubs.

Mr Herbert visited every stand and chatted to the groups to hear more about what they do.  He said: “I enjoyed meeting so many local groups and talking about their work.  I think Storrington On Show is a great initiative and I congratulate David Wright and his team for their hard work in making the second event another success”.
