Angmering is on the southern edge of the Arundel & South Downs constituency, 2 miles inland of the English Channel, and equidistant between the major seaside towns of Littlehampton and Worthing.

There have been settlements at Angmering as far back as the Middle Bronze Age. In modern times, the village has seen continual expansion and is now, with a population of over 6,500, one of the largest villages in the constituency.
